Summer Andreasen
Handwork Assistant

Summer grew up in San Francisco and Laguna Beach, California. Her teenage years were spent playing the flute, participating in theater productions, and spending time at the beach. She returned to San Francisco as a young adult.

She started her BA in Art, then became trained as a Childbirth Educator, and eventually trained as a homebirth midwife. Summer has supported numerous families, prenatal and through their early years as a new family.

In 2009, Summer, her husband, and two young children moved from Portland, Oregon to Provence, France. Art once again became a focus- working with clay and fiber.

Her family returned to San Francisco in 2013 and she took further ceramic, weaving, sculpture, welding, jewelry arts, and printmaking courses.

In San Francisco, Summer taught after-school and summer camps in art, textiles, and jewelry making and was the lead art teacher for a community outreach program for K-5th grade.

Her family returned to Oregon in August 2021. Her son is now attending the University of Oregon, and her daughter will be a high school senior in the fall.

On weekends, Summer cooks and bakes with her daughter, walks her dog, and is always weaving, knitting, crocheting, doing intricate embroidery, or reading.
